Wildfire Risks, was cancelled because the
speaker could not attend.
Continuing growth of suburban development
into forests and wildlands is increasing the
dangers to life and property from wildfires.
Margaret Reams, associate professor of the
Department of Environmental Studies at
Louisiana State University, has conducted
research on state and local wildfire
mitigation programs and will discuss her
recent survey on the most effective wildfire
risk reduction strategies being implemented
and the significant obstacles being met in
creating effective local partnerships.
